Wherever practicable, we steer clear of the traditional billable-hour system. Many services can be performed for flat fees or on a contingency basis. At times, flat fees and contingency agreements are frowned upon or simply prohibited by the rules of professional conduct governing attorneys.
When a flat fee agreement is unattainable, the Law Offices of Ruth Kalnitsky may be retained on an hourly basis. Retainers and hourly rates are based upon the client’s income and ability to pay, the novelty of the legal matter, and the complexity of the case.
Discounted rates are routinely provided to B-Corporations and other entities that have demonstrated a commitment to green, sustainable practices. Further, as a part of our commitment to the community, the Law Offices of Ruth Kalnitsky accept certain clients and cases on a low-bono or pro-bono basis.
